Last updated 17 September 2026
This policy explains what information Pazt handles, where it is kept, and how to remove it.
What Pazt stores
When you use Pazt, the app stores the information you give it: your childhood country and city, your birth year, the places you lived, the memories you create (including photos you choose), your answers to memories, and the stamps and activity that result.
Where it is stored
Without an account, all of that information is stored on your device only.
Accounts are optional. If you sign in with Apple, Google or email, Pazt stores your account (your email address and the sign-in method) and your profile (Home World, city or region, and birth year) on its servers, hosted by Supabase, so you can continue on another device. A random identifier for the archive on your device is kept with your profile to connect the two. Your profile can only be read by your signed-in account.
When you're signed in, Pazt also stores your archive history with your account: the places and years you lived (Places That Made Me), your answers to archive memories, the stamps you've unlocked, and your activity history (for example, which memories you recovered, and the titles of memories you created, as they appeared at the time). Each item is linked to your account and can only be read by your signed-in account.
When you're signed in, the memories you create (including drafts) and the photos you add to them are also stored with your account. Photos are kept in private storage: only your signed-in account can read them, through links that expire. "Published" memories are private to you in this version; nothing is shared publicly. Settings stored on your device are not uploaded.
Network use
Some archive photos are loaded from the internet when you view them. Those requests fetch images; they don't include your archive, profile or answers.
When you're signed in, the app talks to Pazt's servers to keep your session active and to back up your profile, places, answers, stamps and activity.
Sharing
Information leaves Pazt only when you choose to share it, for example by sharing a result or a feedback note through your phone's share sheet. Where it goes from there depends on the app you pick.
Your control
- Edit your profile and places at any time in Settings. When you're signed in, these edits are saved to your account.
- Sign out at any time. Signing out doesn't remove the archive on your device, or what's stored with your account.
- Delete individual memories you created. When you're signed in, this also removes the memory and its photo from your account.
- Delete your whole local archive from Settings → Data & Storage. This removes it from your device only; what's stored with your account is kept and restored when you're signed in.
- Deleting the app also removes the archive stored on this device.
- Delete your account from Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete account. This permanently deletes your Pazt account, your profile, your places, answers, stamps and activity, and the memories and photos you created. It can't be undone.

Changes
As more of your archive becomes available to sync, this policy will be updated to describe it before it happens.
